How does blow-to-ignite work?+
A tiny airflow sensor inside the housing detects your breath and triggers the heating coil for about three seconds — no buttons, no sparks, no moving parts. Just plug it in, exhale gently across the open end, and the coil glows orange.
How do I charge it?+
EmberPocket charges directly from your phone's USB-C port — no cable, no separate brick. A full top-up takes around 15 minutes and the green LED turns solid when it's done. You can also plug it into any standard USB-C charger or power bank.
Is it safe to plug into my phone?+
Yes. The lighter draws a tiny trickle of current (well below your phone's USB-C spec) and the onboard chip stops charging automatically when full, so it can't over-draw or damage your battery.
How many lights per charge?+
About 100 ignitions on a full battery, depending on how long you hold each light. The battery is rated for 500+ recharge cycles before noticeable capacity loss.
Is the coil safe to touch?+
The coil only heats while you're actively blowing into it and cools within seconds after. Still — like any heat source — don't touch the coil directly, keep it away from children, and never use it near flammable liquids, aerosols, or loose hair.
Can I take it on a plane?+
Yes. EmberPocket is flameless and contains no butane or lighter fluid, so it's allowed in carry-on baggage under TSA and most international airline rules covering electric arc and coil lighters (rules vary — always check your airline).
